3/8/2011 $1530 Move to recommend approval of a Community Improvement Grant for Mar Vista Wise Connections not to exceed $1,530.00 (One Thousand Five Hundred and Thirty Dollars) for printing and mailing of 1,500 programs for a community outreach program in Mar Vista. The funding motion must meet the City of Los Angeles funding guidelines and be funded and paid during the current fiscal year which it is passed or it expires on June 30, 2011. In addition, the MVCC Outreach committee requests that 100 copies of the invitation flyer be provided prior to the event to the MVCC for distribution at the MVCC Farmers' Market booth prior to the event and that MVCC be given recognition for its support.  This funding motion must meet all MVCC (including public recognition for its support, if applicable) and City of LA funding guidelines and be funded and paid in the fiscal year which it is passed or it expires on June 30, 2011.

2/8/2011 $600 The MVCC approves the allocation of up to $600 for payment to a website developer to fix or improve various functions of the website that have been identified as being in need of repair or improvement. 11/9/2010 $397 The MVCC approves the allocation of up to $397 plus tax and shipping to purchase sign mounting/posting equipment for Neighborhood watch signs (Location and installation of specific signs to be coordinated with LAPD Senior Lead Officers.) This funding motion must meet all MVCC (including public recognition for its support, if applicable) and City of LA funding guidelines and be funded and paid in the fiscal year which it is passed or it expires on June 30, 2011.
11/9/2010 $1000 The MVCC approves the allocation of up to $1,000 to the LAPD Winter Wonderland Event. Funds will be used to purchase toys, gift cards and groceries among other things for needy Mar Vista families. The funds may also be used in conjunction with donations from other Neighborhood Councils to help augment the costs associated with Snow making services, tent rentals, free pictures with Santa, hot cocoa among other things. This funding motion must meet all MVCC (including public recognition for its support, if applicable) and City of LA funding guidelines and be funded and paid in the fiscal year which it is passed or it expires on June 30, 2010.

4/13/2010 NA The MVCC approves the allocation of up to $185.00 per month to pay for hosting and maintenance of the MVCC website. 1.  Funding Motion re: Raise in Price of Current Web Hosting due to a DWP energy surcharge

          a.   DWP Energy Surcharge of $25 per month starting from Oct through Dec. plus $75 energy surcharge

          b.  Total Bill $150.00

2.  Funding Motion: The MVCC will allocate $350.00 out of the $6,000 August 12th funding motion for neighborhood association newsletters to the Westside Village Civic Association to pay for an ad that will be placed in their next newsletter. This Funding motion must meet all City of LA funding guidelines and be funded and paid in the fiscal year which it is passed or it expires on June 30, 2009. In addition, the MVCC requests that 100 copies of the newsletter be provided to the MVCC for distribution at the MVCC Farmers Market booth.

3.  Funding Motion: The MVCC allocates up to $1,500.00 to purchase additional MVCC reusable grocery bags originally designed by members of the MVCC Green Committee. Additionally, the Outreach Committee requests that additional research take place to find alternative vendors for the reusable bag that can provide bags created with "sustainable" materials, and that these options be presented to the Board when this motion is considered.

1.  Funding Motion for North Oval Block Party: To approve an allocation of no more than $500 to support the North Oval Block Pary summer 2009 event contingent on the following conditions:

          i) All publicity for the event must include a reference to MVCC sponsorship

          ii) The organization or group putting on the block party must provide a forum for public introduction of the MVCC to the attendees at the party. In addition, the MVCC shall be allowed to host a booth or table where promotional materials can be distributed.

          iii) The group or organization putting on the block party shall answer the provided questions as stated in the MVCC resolution regarding block parties. Funds must be allocated and spent before the end of Calendar year 2009 or it expires.

This is a neighborhood outreach effort that will include renters as well as homeowners and is a follow up to last years event. A table/booth for MVCC identifies the MVCC involvement where we can answer questions and hand out literature

3.  Funding Motion for Ad in South Mar Vista Newsletter:   The MVCC allocates the final allocation of $300 for the South Mar Vista Neighborhood Association out of the $6,000 August 12, 2008 MVCC funding motion for neighborhood association newletters to the South Mar Vista Neighborhood Association to pay for an ad that will be placed in their Spring 2009 newsletter. This funding motion must meet all City of LA funding guidelines and be funded and paid in the fiscal year which it is passed or it expires on June 30, 2009.

4.  FUNDING MOTION: for Graffiti Removal Services: MVCC agrees to pay $5,000 to Pacific Graffiti Solutions for the removal of graffiti and weeds in and around the Mar Vista area with documentation of such removal to be provided by Pacific Graffiti Solutions. This funding motion must meet all city of L.A. funding guidelines and be funded and paid in the fiscal year in which it passed or it expires.
