Recreation & Open Space Enhancement Committee

The mission of the MVCC Recreation & Open Space Enhancement Committee is to work towards improving the quality of life for Mar Vista Stakeholders by enhancing the availability and quality of open space as well as increasing recreational opportunities in the Mar Vista vicinity including but not limited to improved bike lanes, bike parking, walking trails, pocket parks, dog parks, access to open fields and recreation facilities, as well as improved sustainability.   

The committee shall also work in cooperation with the MVCC Urban Planning Committee, MVCC Concept Plan Committee, the Mar Vista Park Advisory Board, park users, local neighborhood associations, other residents, and the MVCC Board of Directors to further these goals.

The ROSE Committee has recently been charged with planning and producing this years Mar Vista Community Fall Festival. The event will be held at Mar Vista Recreation Center on October 16th, 2010 from 10AM to 4PM and focus on Health and Fitness. Please join us to help plan an exciting and informative event which we hope will again bring our community together for a day of fun and entertainment.  Organizations and businesses intersested in helping sponsor this years festival should contact Tom Ponton or Jerry Hornof.
