WELCOME TO THE NEW MARVISTA VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Mar Vista Volunteers is a new initiative of the Outreach Committee of the Mar Vista Community Council (MVCC). Our vision is to have one event each quarter, develop a volunteer corps, and offer volunteer opportunities from each of the MVCC committees. Survey: Should Mar Vista host a pilot program to allow Urban Beekeeping in residential areas?

The MVCC is conducting a feasibility study to create a pilot program that allows interested Mar Vista residents (in R1 zones) to keep up to two hives on their property.  We'd like your feedback on this proposal.  Please take the survey here.

Mark Twain Middle school teacher honored as Teacher of the Year by LAUSD

Mark Twain Middle School American History teacher Daniel Buccieri is awarded a Teacher of the Year award by the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Additionally, his classroom and students were featured on a national network television broadcast segment on the teaching of history in our public schools.
